April 2026 Activities

Lajee Library

Lajee Library carried out interactive storytelling and learning activities for Zahrat Al-Yasmeen kindergarten students, focusing on creativity, participation, and early education. Through the story “The First Flower on Earth”, children engaged in discussions about nature, plant growth, and care for living things. The session encouraged curiosity and dialogue, with children actively sharing their experiences with flowers, plants, and even pets.

Another educational activity, “I Know My Colors”, helped children learn and identify colors through interactive cards, storytelling, and linking colors to fruits, vegetables, and elements of nature. These activities were reinforced through coloring worksheets and creative expression, making learning both engaging and enjoyable.

The library also continued its weekly Friday open sessions, providing children with a safe space for reading, drawing, coloring, and free play.

Lajee Music Institute

Lajee Music Institute continued individual and group training sessions for students across various instruments, alongside ongoing music theory lessons and choir rehearsals. Students practiced different musical pieces in preparation for performances.

Group training sessions included eight students, strengthening collaboration and performance skills. These efforts led to students successfully performing two musical pieces during the opening of the Lajee Center playground, marking an important milestone in their artistic development.

ACLAI-Palestine Gym

Following Ramadan and Eid, ACLAI-Palestine Gym resumed full activities, maintaining regular training sessions for 165 female participants and over 50 male participants.

Two main community activities were organized:

  • Open Football Activity for Men: Engaging more than 30 participants aged 35–70, providing recreational space and reconnecting participants with football.
  • Outdoor Physical Exercise for Women: Involving more than 50 women in group exercises and social sports activities in an open and supportive environment.

The gym recorded 2,019 total visits across 331 sessions during the month, reflecting strong and continuous community participation.

Health Unit and the 13th Medical Day

The Health Unit continued providing comprehensive community healthcare services to 177 chronic disease patients in Aida and Al-Azza camps through structured home visits and continuous follow-up. During April, community health workers conducted 213 home visits, offering monitoring of blood pressure and blood sugar levels, health education, nutritional guidance, and support for medication adherence and physical activity.

A key highlight of the month was the 13th Medical Day, which provided free healthcare services to around 150 beneficiaries from Aida, Al-Azza, and surrounding areas. The Medical Day included specialist consultations in orthopedics, internal medicine and chronic diseases, and ENT, along with free medication distribution based on prescriptions. Nursing and nutrition students from Palestine Ahliya University contributed through health awareness activities and chronic disease screening, strengthening preventive health education within the community.

The unit also continued collaboration with academic institutions. Physiotherapy students from Bethlehem University conducted home visits for patient assessment, with follow-up interventions planned for May, while nutrition students supported awareness sessions focusing on women’s health and postmenopausal care.

In addition, the Health Unit worked with Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten to introduce children to basic health concepts through simple educational activities.

The Maternal and Child Health program also continued supporting 22 children and their mothers through regular monitoring, awareness sessions, and essential care support.

Environmental Unit

The unit maintained its rooftop hydroponic greenhouses at Lajee Center, producing a variety of crops including cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, and others.

The unit also supported three community greenhouses, including two established on the rooftops of homes of patients benefiting from the Health Unit, encouraging families to engage in home farming, strengthen food security, and reconnect with agricultural practices. A third greenhouse at Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten was dedicated to seedling production, supporting both educational activities and the distribution of plants to families in need.

The Environmental Club actively participated in recycling workshops, environmental awareness sessions, cleaning campaigns, gardening activities, and maintenance of green spaces. These activities strengthened environmental responsibility, teamwork, and practical understanding of sustainability and recycling.

The unit also implemented environmental activities with children from Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten, introducing them to basic concepts of planting, recycling, and environmental care through simple and interactive learning methods. These activities aimed to build early environmental awareness and strengthen children’s connection to nature.

Rebel Circus School

The Rebel Circus School continued its dynamic training program throughout April, offering students regular sessions in trapeze, acrobatics, aerial, juggling, and balance techniques. The students worked intensively on developing their physical skills, coordination, teamwork, and stage confidence through structured and creative circus arts training.

A major highlight of the month was the preparation and performance of a full circus show by the fourth group of students during the reopening of the Lajee Center playground. The performance created a joyful atmosphere and was warmly received by the audience, bringing together families and community members in a celebration of creativity and youth talent.

The fourth group students also continued taking an active leadership role within the school by supporting and training younger groups every Monday. The training program follows a structured plan developed in coordination with Spanish trainers, who are currently unable to travel to Palestine. Despite these challenges, the trainers continue to provide weekly online sessions and coordinate each training class remotely with the fourth group, ensuring continuity and skill development.

Reopening Ceremony of the Lajee Center Playground

April marked the official reopening of the Lajee Center playground after major renovation and development works. The playground has been transformed into a safe and welcoming community space for children, families, and residents of Aida and Al-Azza camps.

The Center extends its gratitude to the workers, engineers, and partners Design for Palestine and 1for3 for their support in completing this important community project.

Zahrat Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten

The kindergarten organized a supportive group session for mothers, offering a safe space for emotional expression and stress relief. The session included discussions on parenting approaches, child behavior, and positive communication strategies.

Mothers actively participated in interactive activities and experience sharing, strengthening the relationship between families and the kindergarten in supporting children’s development.
