Lajee Library
Lajee Library hosted inspiring programs for children to develop imagination, storytelling, and artistic expression:
- Creative Writing Workshop with Ahlam Bisharat: Two groups of children (ages 8–14) participated in 30 hours of creative writing over eight days, learning observation exercises, descriptive writing, and narrative skills. Children wrote their own stories, which will be illustrated by another group of children.
- Art Workshop with Mohammad Al-Ra’i: Children explored drawing fundamentals, storytelling through images, and free drawing exercises. They received practical training in still life, nature, and character drawing, alongside studies in color, composition, and visual expression.
These programs nurtured creativity, self-expression, and confidence, helping children tell their stories in both words and visuals.
Lajee Music Institute
Students continued instrumental training across all instruments, alongside regular choral rehearsals. This month, the unit also prepared a group performance for Ramadan, promoting musical skills, teamwork, and stage experience.
Zahret Al-Yasmeen Kindergarten
The kindergarten focused on learning, movement, and social-emotional development:
- Health, Circus, and Dabke Activities: Children participated in physical and creative activities promoting fitness, coordination, and teamwork.
- Behavioral Support: Individualized strategies helped children with ADHD, alongside social work sessions to enhance emotional expression and communication skills.
- Art and Collaborative Activities: A group art project with mothers and a hot chocolate event encouraged cooperation, creativity, and shared experiences.
- Health Awareness Workshop: The Health Unit introduced children to viruses, hygiene, and personal cleanliness through interactive activities, videos, and coloring exercises.
Boxing Program
Boxing at Lajee Center continued to grow as an inclusive and dynamic sport:
- Launch of the Girls’ Boxing Program in collaboration with Lajee Celtic.
- Male and female youth groups continued regular structured training.
- Italian boxing coaches Fabrizio Troya and Giulio Tufello supported the female boxing coach, trained youth groups, and helped establish the girls’ boxing club.
ACLAI Palestine Gym
The ACLAI Gym provided structured fitness and training for youth and adults:
- Female Participation: Over 160 participants across 13 groups.
- Male Participation: Over 100 participants, divided into multiple groups including youth, adults, and patient groups.
- Sessions: The gym conducted 300 sessions with 1,771 visits, reflecting high engagement and dedication to community sports development.
Lajee Celtic Club & Academy
The Football Academy had an active month of training and competitions:
- Regular Training: Teams trained according to structured schedules.
Matches:
- First Team: 7-2 win vs. Abnaa Al-Quds, 3-5 loss vs. Shabab Al-Issawiya.
- Youth Academy (2009–2011): 8-2 win vs. Salesian Academy.
- Youth Academy (2012–2014): 11-7 win vs. Salesian Academy.
- Youth match vs. European Academy: 4-5 loss.
Player Achievements:
- Mahmoud Al-Zeer participated in Palestinian Olympic Team training.
- Ahmed Al-Awawi appointed vice-captain of the Palestinian Youth National Team.
- Community Engagement: Coordination with the Aida Camp Popular Committee for the annual Displaced Villages Ramadan Tournament, and participation in local Bethlehem tournaments.
Environmental Unit:
The Environmental Unit focused on green spaces, sustainability, and community support:
- Plant and Greenhouse Care: Environmental workers tended rooftop and indoor plants, pruned tomatoes, and planted seedlings including Swiss chard, watermelon, pumpkin, peppers, and sunflowers.
- Distribution to Families: Fresh produce such as cucumbers, tomatoes, and leafy greens was shared with patients, alongside operational hydroponic towers.
- Community Support: Families were assisted with greenhouse maintenance, fertilizing, and cleaning.
- Environmental Awareness: The Environmental Quality Authority delivered workshops for women on biodiversity and safe plastic use, discussing risks and alternatives.
Health Unit
The Health Unit provided essential services and education:
- Conducted 182 home visits for diabetes and hypertension patients in Aida and Azza camps, including follow-ups with Dr. Mohammad Abu Surur.
- Kobo Data Tracking: Patient information was monitored by Dr. Henry, who also held a session on behavioural health and habit change.
- Specialist Visits: Orthopedic and general surgeons conducted examinations and treatments.
- Clinic Services: Included cannula insertion, vitamin injections, blood pressure and diabetes screenings, and extended afternoon care until 6 PM.
Circus School
The Circus School continued a three-month skill development program for kindergarten and circus students led by Spanish coach Carla. Activities focused on coordination, creativity, and physical fitness, helping children explore circus techniques while building confidence and teamwork.
Media Unit
The Media Unit engaged students in creative documentation and exhibition preparation:
- Students developed the initial concept for an exhibition, documented early experiments, and photographed their work.
- These efforts will be developed into comprehensive visual materials for future presentation.
