Over 70 Women Participate in the Sixth Summer Health Camp in Aida and Beit Jibrin Camps
The Health and Environment Unit at Lajee Center organized its sixth consecutive Summer Health Camp, which lasted for four days with the participation of more than 70 women from Aida and Beit Jibrin Camps and the surrounding areas. The camp featured diverse health, awareness-raising, and creative activities.
On the first day, participants were registered and divided into three groups that worked on: making thread medallions, candle making, and word-and-picture competitions.
On the second day, activities included an interactive workshop with psychologist Carolina Al-Houdaly on symbols, emotions, and sources of strength, alongside creative activities such as making satin paper flowers, a proverb competition, and another round of candle making in new molds.
On the third day, activities focused on reusing and decorating glass bottles with jute rope, in addition to cultural competitions aimed at enhancing general knowledge. The day ended with an evaluation session, where participants stressed the importance of continuing such initiatives for their positive psychological and social impact.
On the fourth day, participants led health corners on diabetes, hypertension, and first aid. The camp also hosted Dr. Bilal Malash, an orthopedic specialist, who gave a session on bone diseases, pain, and proper health care. The day concluded with a shared breakfast and the registration of those interested in joining the camp’s closing trip.
This camp is part of Lajee Center’s efforts to empower women on the health, psychological, and social levels, while providing safe spaces for learning, emotional release, and strengthening solidarity among women in the face of the difficult conditions in the West Bank.
