Women’s Return Project: volunteer work in the northern Jordan Valley

On February 26th 2022 50 male and female volunteers from the Lajee Center worked alongside the BADIL Center and local institutions in the Ain al-Bayda area (northern Jordan Valley) to help Palestinian farmers. The Lajee Center Women’s Unit helped rejuvenate and strengthen local Palestinian farmland by building stone fences and weeding fertile land. The activities also included a reception hosted by the Bardala Village Council and a discussion about the daily sufferings of the villagers -the most prominent problem being access to areas rich in natural resources. Traditional Palestinian songs were sung throughout the day celebrating our heritage, reinforcing national fervor and revitalizing the spirit of volunteer work amongst the younger generations.
