ACLAÍ Palestine Gym
ACLAÍ Palestine is a community gym and movement space located in the Lajee Centre in the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem, West Bank Palestine. It officially opened in February 2020 as a result of the hard work of our team in Ireland and Palestine.
ACLAÍ Palestine provides a space for strength and movement training for people of all ages who live in the Bethlehem Area, mainly Aida and Beit Jibreen Refugee Camps (Al Azza Camp). The gym also provides exercise sessions for patients of the community health program, run by the Lajee Center. Moreover, we provide one-one sessions for the people who have physical dysfunction from the both refugee camps.
Our team consists of six coaches: our four female coaches are responsible for training the female participants aged between 14 and 70 years old; and two male coaches who train the male participants aged between 15 and 65 years old.
Our training is delivered through personal coaching, where each participant is provided with a high quality training program tailored to their individual goals.
In 2024, we had more than 140 participants each month in the gym, the majority of whom were women. So far, in 2025, we have achieved more than 6,000 visits to the gym.
